A popular folk song of Japan presented in a concert standard virtuoso piano transcription. The piece is a wonderful addition to the repertoire of a classical pianist of intermediate to advanced level. In a set of variations, it goes through various moods ranging from sweet, nostalgic, barbaric and majestic. The piece deals with almost all elements of technique: arpeggios, scales, chords, octaves with bravura lush passages towards the ending. It runs at about 8 minutes.
